We are now in phase 1-b: Planning a one month vacation and scouting trip to the Republic of Ireland. Phase 1, was my applying for Irish Citizenship, which I have done. I must now wait and wait and wait some more, possibly another year, before I hear back from the Irish Government. As of now I am on the Foreign Birth's Registry list. When my name comes to the top, I will receive an application for an Irish Passport! After that, Renee and I will move to Ireland.

But, I am getting ahead of myself . . .

As I said, this is phase 1-b, planning the BIG vacation. The first thing we had to do was to sell the rental property, we owned in a VERY tight real estate market and get enough profit to finance this excursion. Well, Renee worked really hard, with another Realtor, and did all that and more. It took a couple of months some of really bad surprises but in the end it was well worth it.

Since then we have been making reservations on-line for everything from the flight to tickets to a play at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. With lots of traveling and places to stay. If anyone has any suggestions on ANYTHING please let us know.

Oh, here's a question, if you have ever been there, was there any item(s) that you couldn't get there that you wish you could have? Something that is easily obtained in America. If so, let us know.

We will be gone for the entire month of December. December? Sure, why not. We will be celebrating my 50th birthday while we stay in Ross Castle in County Cavan. We have reserved the upper tower room. It is a mere 65 stone steps up. Oh, and it is supposed to be haunted too. Sounds like our kind of place, for sure !If you know of anything bad about this place, (other than the treacherous stairs and the blood curdling screams of the dead, of course) please tell us when we get back we'd rather be surprised.

Our journey will begin in Dublin and end at the Shannon airport, with lots of driving and fun in between. We hope to post photos every day on this blog or through another site that I'm working on. Our email address is, as always

That's all for now!

Best of everything,

Kevin and Renee
